How do I order online?
1. click "view catalog / order online" on our home page.
2. enter your log-in name and password. (In order to have your personal discounted prices shown, you must
log-in to the catalog. Please call us at (785) 825-1880 or (800) 794-1828 for your log-in name and password.)
3. locate items by browsing the catalog, or by using the "search" function.
4. click "check out".
5. enter a P.O. number if needed, or any other special instructions.
6. click "finish checkout". You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your order.
Why should I log-in if it's not required?
So that you can see your personal discounted prices (if you are not logged-in, LIST prices will be displayed).
Logging in also allows you to use the "shopping list" feature, which is a list of items that you can create that is saved and can be used for fast entry of frequently ordered items.
Also, to place an order online, you must be logged-in.
Can I change my log-in name and password?
It can be changed, but we must do it for you. Each word can be up to 10 characters and cannot
contain any spaces or special characters.
How do I add items to the shopping cart?
The "shopping cart" holds all items to be ordered. The item number, description, unit of measure, and price for each product on your order will be displayed there.
Items can be placed into the cart by any combination of the following 3 methods:
- By browsing through the catalog (or through "search" results), finding a desired item, and clicking "add to cart".
- By using the "My Lists". This is an optional list you can create that is saved and is always available whenever you log-on. It allows frequently ordered items to be added to your shopping cart with just one click.
- By using "quick order". If you know the exact item numbers you need, this form allows you to manually enter up to 10 item numbers at once.
The online catalog doesn't show an item that I know you sell, how do I order it?
Even though the online catalog shows over 95% of our products, certain items such as some copy paper, some toner, new or special ordered items, may not appear in the index categories.
These items can be found by entering a short description of them into the "search" box (the search function will find items that do not appear in the index categories).
Or, if you know the item's number, you can enter it by clicking "quick order"*.
*Note: If you enter a known good item number (such as from an invoice), and it is not found, please let us know and we will get it added to the online catalog the same day (so that it will be available for your next online order).
How do I use the "search" function?
Entries for the search function can be single words, short descriptive phrases, or item numbers
(including partial item numbers).
What if the search finds too many results?
Try the search again using multiple words. For example: "retractable gel pen" (22 results) instead of "pen" (1857 results).
When only one word is searched for, the system will find anywhere those particular letters appear, including being part of another word. For example: searching for "pens" will find all pens, but also all "dispensers".
Will items in my shopping cart stay there (until next time) if I log off without placing the order?
Yes. However, they will be removed once you click "Finish Checkout". If you want a list of specific frequently ordered items to always be ready to order, use the "My Lists" function.
How do I remove items from the shopping cart?
Change the quantity of the item to "0", then click "update cart". (Leaving the "quantity" box empty will cause an error code to display).
I get the error: "Microsoft VBscript runtime error" when trying to remove an item from the shopping cart.
The quantity must be changed to "0" to remove an item. (Leaving the "quantity" box empty will cause the above error code to display).
I clicked "Add to Lists", why didn't the item show up in my shopping cart?
Clicking "Add to Lists" adds the item to your "My lists". You must click "Add to Cart" to place the item into your shopping cart.
How do I specify any special instructions?
Comments can be applied to either the entire order, or only to any individual item. When you click "check out", you will see a place to enter instructions that apply to the whole order.
On each item's detail page, there is a "comment" box where you can enter any special instructions regarding only that particular item before you add it to the shopping cart.
